Homeschool Art

Full high school curriculum. Includes all of the concepts you could possibly want to cover (elements, technique, mediums, vocabulary, assignments) and a rubric for grading.

Beautifully laid out lessons on art, design and appreciation. Chose a lesson by subject, history era or art period (Impressionism, Renaissance, Modern). Read excerpts, do activities and take quizzes to test your knowledge.

Art  slide shows, gallery of famous paintings and "Guess that artist" game. Art appreciation for kids lessons have an artists biography, study sheet, worksheet, grey scale printable of a famous work, word search, word scramble, jig-saw puzzle, crossword puzzle and links to further study.

Artists and their art, Sharing visual stories, is broken down into an 8 year study (grades 1-8) of 10 artists a year. But, being self paced and open courseware means you can use some or ALL of them in the order of your choice. The artist, a specific work, suggested activities and associated learning are provided.

Based on the Charlotte Mason method, lessons are laid out bi-weekly for one artist studied per trimester over an eight year cycle. The first lesson introduces the artist and period, with subsequent lessons focusing on specific works and offering suggested activities and further learning.
